Blizzard Entertainment has decided to retain the bonus birthday buff in Diablo 3. The buff was originally announced as part of the two year anniversary of Diablo 3 and was supposed to be functional from May 15th until May 22nd.
Game designer Travis Day announced today on Battle.net forums that the buff would now be a permanent thing due to the incredible response shown by the players.
“Once the buff is disabled tomorrow morning, you will find that the new base line drop rates for Legendary items will be the same as those you have all enjoyed for the last week,” Day wrote.
The buff, which was made available only to PC and Mac players awards players double Rift fragments, and a 100% increased chance of Legendary drop rates. It applies to all characters the player has on the account and stacks with other similar buffs.
So if you are one such player who was worried that you were not able to farm to your heart’s content during this last week, rejoice! You will now be able to farm for as long as you want.
The 3rd title in Blizzard’s highly acclaimed Diablo franchise was launched for PC and Mac in 2012. The game received its first expansion pack, Reaper of Souls in March.
A console exclusive package titled Ultimate Evil Edition will be released on 19th August for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. This package contains the base game as well as the Reaper of Souls expansion.
