Publisher NIS America has a release date for Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited for both North America and Europe. It will release in the former region on August 12, 2014 and head down to Europe on August 29, 2014.
Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited is a PS Vita port from the original release, Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited, on Playstation 3, which dates back as far as 2011. It’s taken a while to get there, but given the power of roleplaying game (RPG) releases on handhelds, the move makes sense.
As an added bonus, the PS Vita version will own all downloadable content (DLC) previously released on the PS3 version at no extra cost. Better yet, Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited has some exclusive content of its own.
In the PS Vita version, you’ll be able to partake in some new scenarios, which should add more background story to some of the franchise’s most notable characters. This iteration may also include a few more cameo appearances of some fan favorites.
Disgaea is one of the most coveted franchises that uses an elaborate strategy RPG system for its gameplay. Battles are viewed from an isometric perspective, looking down on picturesque dungeons.
Combat takes place in a turn-based system with extremely flashy moves that fill up the entire screen. Disgaea also allows for tons of customization for different skills, attacks and so on. As a plus, it’s also highly colorful and cute.
Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited is made by Nippon Ichi Software who recently tried something different with The Witch and the Hundred Knight. It has a similar visual style, but it’s pretty much its own thing beyond that.
