It’s been almost 8 months since Siege of Orgrimmar, the final raid of Mists of Pandaria was released. Blizzard has now started working towards the release of the upcoming expansion Warlords of Draenor.
Before patch 6.0, which will serve as a pre-WoD patch, there are still many changes needed to be made in the game and for those purposes, patch 5.4.8 is coming soon.
The patch, which is on the PTR servers right now, will serve to bring many updates and changes to the game. The epic items which were introduced in patch 5.4 (Siege of Orgrimmar) had the ability to be further upgraded to increase their item level.
Each item could previously have 2 upgrades which meant an item with level 553 could be upgraded to 561. This however, will change in the new patch; players will now be able to upgrade an item 4 times! This means a 553 level item can be bumped up to 569.
This upgrade can be done on items acquired from Timeless Isle or Siege of Orgrimmar.
A new type of token, Deeds of Valor is also being introduced. These will cost 3000 Timeless Coins to purchase and upon use will grant players 100 Valor Points. These tokens can be purchased from Mistweaver Ai on Timeless Isle and are ‘Bind on Acquire’ so no trading is possible. Furthermore, they cannot be used to go past the weekly Valor Point limit.
The heirloom items dropped from Siege of Orgrimmar will also have their item level increased by 8 in World Of Warcraft Patch 5.4.8.
