Krillbite Studios has confirmed that it is bringing its first-person toddler-horror project Among the Sleep to Playstation 4, which will also support Sony’s in-development virtual reality headset, Project Morpheus.
Previously, Among the Sleep was slated to release on Microsoft Windows, OSX, and Linux in spring 2014 with a free Playable Demo on Steam.
Among the Sleep was successfully funded via Kickstarter back on May 18, 2013 and managed to net $248,358 – although the developer pledged for $200,000 – from 8,110 backers.
What sets Among the Sleep apart from other games of the same genre is that it puts players in the shoes of a two years-old kid who is accompanied by his teddy bear. While playing as a child, players must overcome supernatural entities that haunt him both in real world and in his dreams.
Among the Sleep is a first-person horror adventure where you play as a two-year-old. You’re vulnerable, scared, and trying to make sense of the world. It explores horror through atmosphere and exploration, not with scores and combat systems.
The developer has not announced a solid release date for the Playstation 4 version and whether or not Project Morpheus will be supported at launch, but it did state that the PS4 owners will get a ‘fair deal.’
Finally, if you’re one of our Kickstarter backers, don’t worry — we’re working on a plan to ensure you get a fair deal on the PS4 version of the game.
