Point-and-Click Adventure Shadowgate Releases In Summer
Point-and-click adventure Shadowgate will launch its remake this summer for PC, iOS and Android devices for a price of $19.99. Preorders for the game are available now at a 25% discount, bringing the sum to $14.99.
There’s quite the history behind Shadowgate. It originally released in 1987 on Apple computers, before getting a version on the NES in 1989.
Given the lengthy history behind the game, you can expect the new Shadowgate to behave quite like its predecessors. This means static sceneries where events unfold in first-person perspective.
Still, production values for Shadowgate are a little above that of its pixelated past. Now, it handles more of a motion comic style.
Accompanied with music, text and effects, highly detailed illustrations billow over the screen. This is set in equally refined backgrounds. It looks a bit like those hidden object games that use similar visuals.
Shadowgate took to Kickstarter in 2012 to draw in $120,000 in funds. It reached just a little above its goal.
It didn’t, however, really get to its estimated release period. During its Kickstarter campaign, Shadowgate was planned at the end of last year. By now, it’s probably expected that any Kickstarter ends up being tardy.
Aside from regular preorders, it’s also possible to opt for an Adventurer pack that comes with wallpapers and a calendar at a price of $19.99.
Those who opt for a Hero pack will additionally receive a soundtrack, a digital map and a digital artbook. Moreover, it grants entry as a Beta tester and you get the full version one week before others. That will cost you $24.99.
