Online store Gamersgate has started offering Android games through its hub. For the first 24 hours, you’ll be able to score some at a 50% discount.
It’s said that there are over 100 games to choose from. These range wildly in style, but several are notable releases that were previously also available there on PC.
More sensible releases include the trippy roleplaying game (RPG) Anodyne, heavy on dissonant sounds and warping imagery to throw players off guard.
For a more leisurely pace, try out Knights of Pen & Paper +1. It’s an RPG, where you play some people sitting at a table, playing an RPG. It’s so meta.
Magicka: Wizards of the Square Tablet offers the same action from the main series, but in a hand-drawn side-scrolling scope, made by Ludosity, who recently announced it was helping out with Mojang’s Scrolls.
For high action, we recommend Savant: Ascent. Its rhythmical chaos will require a ton of great reflexes to shoot and dodge incoming threats around you.
Unfortunately, there’s also a lot of uninspired releases on there, but since they’re not in the thousands just yet, you may be able to scope out a good’un here or there. Hopefully, those titles will stay in minimal quantities, since Steam is already showing that dropping all manners of games isn’t doing it favors.
With the Android addition, Gamersgate now has a small advantage over some of its competitors. Moreover, the store has a reward program with blue coins that can also be used for Android releases.
As an added plus, this is a fine way for users who don’t use a credit card to get games through the store’s payment options.
