People have been waiting for Watch Dogs since it was first revealed at E3 2012 and after suffering delays, the game will finally see the light of day at the end of next month.
There is no doubt in the argument that it is one of the most anticipated games of 2014 but Ubisoft considers a blockbuster that may rival the likes of FIFA and Call of Duty.
In an interview with MCV, Wayne Greenwell said:
Excitement for the product remains incredibly high and gamers are desperate to finally get their hands on the title. This is reflected in our pre-orders which are hugely promising for a new IP and highlights the enthusiasm that has surrounded the product since it was first unveiled to the world.
Ubisoft wants to bring a great experience to the players with this new IP and believes that their newest IP will be one of the biggest titles of this year.
With Watch Dogs, Ubisoft is building a new blockbuster brand to stand alongside other top tier triple-A titles and we expect it to be not only one of the best selling new IPs in recent memory, but also one of the best selling titles throughout 2014.
The core of the game relies in the hacking ability of the game’s protagonist Aiden Pierce. Most of the infrastructure of the city of Chicago will be under the players’ control and they can be influenced in favor of the protagonist.
Watch Dogs is slated for release on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC on 27th of May.
