We know courtesy of Game Developers Conference 2014 that Sony is going to bring us another major system update for their latest console. It is called PlayStation 4 update 1.70 and it will bring you some new features including SHAREfactory, the console’s own video editor.
The ‘rich’ video editor app, as they are calling it, will make its way to Sony’s newest console through the PlayStation 4 update 1.70. a post was made on the official PlayStation EU Blog where Scott McCarthy the director of product planning and software innovation, home consoles, SCEA introduced the app:
“With SHAREfactory, you can now easily combine your captured video clips for editing, personalize them with special effects using filters, transitions and themes and share them with your friends and social networks. SHAREfactory also allows you to personalize your videos by adding text, stickers and a set of included audio tracks, as well as video commentary with picture-in-picture capability with PlayStation Camera. It also allows you to import original music to add to the custom soundtrack for your video.”
After the editing, you will be able to share the videos on your Facebook or even export them to a USB and take them with you wherever you want.
That being said, the PlayStation 4 update 1.70 is also going to add an HDCP turning off switch. This means you will be able to record videos from the HDMI directly. You will be able to record and share videos that are longer in length.
Lastly, the PlayStation 4 update 1.70 will build on the Play as You Download feature to make immediate access more possible. Your console will be able to auto-download the preordered games around four days before the release. You will get to play the game the second it goes live officially.
