As part of an agreement with Valve, the survival horror hide-and-seek hybrid multiplayer title The Flock will be releasing on Steam, Dutch Indie developer Vogelsap announced today.
The game is set in the future, during a time when humanity has long been wiped out from the face of the Earth. Before their demise though, humanity collected and locked Sunlight into a artifact. This relic has now been found by The Flock, a race of twisted creatures that now live in the dark world and use it to kill each other.
The game’s multiplayer is designed for three to five players, where they are pit against each other in a race to find the glowing artifact. Once a player finds the artifact he becomes the Carrier and has to use it to kill the remaining players. Being the Carrier though also means that you will be targeted by all of the remaining players. The objective of the game is to take hold of the artifact and stay alive as long as possible.
The Artifact projects a beam of light, any Flock caught moving in the light is killed. Keeping still on the other hand doesn’t kill them and allows them to ambush the Carrier once he has turned his back. Unlike the Flock, the Carrier becomes slower and slightly weaker.
As of yet there are no details on when the game will release on Steam.
