This week’s European update for the Nintendo eShop will have something quite special, as Mario Golf: World Tour will receive a short demo. This is the perfect way to test your skills before the Nintendo 3DS game releases in the beginning of May.
Interestingly enough, Mario Golf: World Tour was first set to release in summer of last year, but it was ultimately pushed back all the way to now. Hopefully, this will be reflected in the final release.
In the game, players participate in some straightforward rounds of golf in a simpler arcade style. For instance, it’s possible to hit Super Shots that allow the ball to go farther than usual.
Some of the courses in Mario Golf: World Tour will be modeled after real tracks, which is a little weird. Luckily, for fans, the franchise-themed stages are still there as well.
Of course, you’ll be able to choose some characters from the series as well. Well-known favorites like Luigi, Donkey Kong, Peach and Bowser have already been confirmed. You’ll also be able to play as your own Mii.
Perhaps most important for multiplayer fans, Mario Golf: World Tour will allow for online gameplay.
If you’re planning on buying the game down the line, you might want to know that Nintendo is offering a small promotion for its release. Those who buy Mario Golf: World Tour by May 29, 2014 will receive a free download code for the original Mario Golf on Game Boy after their purchase.
As always, the eShop update occurs on Thursday, so look for the Mario Golf: World Tour demo by then.
