The free-to-play online trading card game Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft will be getting a single player mode, Blizzard announced at PAX East today.
Called Curse of Naxxramas, the single player mode takes place in the floating cemetery of the same name. Players will battle their way through five different wings of the cursed cemetery with a boss at the end of each wing.
Like the Arena mode, players are required to pay a ‘toll’ to enter each wing, which can be either in the form of in-game currency (gold) or real money. The cost is as of yet unknown.
Each wing will unlock one week at a time over the course of five weeks, the first of the wings will be free to enter. Defeating the bosses at the end of the wing earns them a legendary card, the new add-on also comes with 30 new cards.
The bosses will have their own unique abilities, art, minions and voices. Each hero will face with character specific challenges that earn them a card based on their own class on completion.
No word on when Curse of Naxxramas will release but it will see a simultaneous release on the PC, Mac and iPad.
You can download Hearthstone for the PC and Mac from the official Blizzard site or from the Blizzard Desktop App.
