Supergiant Games’ upcoming top-down RPG title Transistor is slated for a May 20 release on the PC and PlayStation 4.
The game will be available for the price of $19.99 from PlayStation Network, Steam and Supergiant Games’ website. Transistor will also be available at PAX East this weekend for players to experience on the PlayStation 4 the near-final build of the highly anticipated title.
“We’ve been putting the finishing touches on it and think it’s just about ready,” wrote writer and designer Greg Kasavin.
The team plans on launching the game worldwide and will include voice-overs in English and text in French, English, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Russion.
For now the game has no pre-order option but the team is working on the matter. More details on the game will be revealed up to the launch next month.
Transistor is set in a futuristic city, following the journey of a famous singer named Red and her quest to recover her stolen voice. She comes across a Powerful Sword called The Transistor, which has a consciousness of it’s own. It reveals “The Process” has stolen her voice amongst others’ and is also after the sword.
Transistor combines Real-Time movement with Turn-Based Combat, allowing the player to move around before executing attacks.
Supergiant Games’ first title Bastion won many awards and people are already calling Transistor as a worthy follow up to the critically acclaimed title. With the original writer, composer and voice actors working on the game, Transistor’s success is guaranteed.
