Today, Microsoft is going to release the latest title update for their fighting game Killer Instinct, which will include the Arcade Mode alongside eighth and final character for the season ‘Cyborg Knight Fulgore’.
The new update of the game will require 6.8 GB of hard disk space and it will add online lobbies, which will feature eight player rooms and also an option for spectating.
This new update of Killer Instinct is developed by Double Helix Games which are now part of Amazon after their acquisition in February.
From now on, Microsoft’s fighting title will be handled by a new developer ‘Iron Galaxy Studios’ who are famous for making Divekick in 2013 and Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike Online Edition in 2011.
In an interview with Polygon, the CEO of Iron Galaxy Studio said:
This is an amazing opportunity to work on a game and a genre we are super passionate about. Before we were ever talking about this, I was a fan of the game.
And to get to now take it over and start with this great base, and expand it and put new stuff on top of it, everyone in the company is super pumped up, and we can’t wait to show people what we’re going to be doing down the road.
Killer Instinct has been enjoying a lot of success on the Xbox One and with studio like Iron Galaxy, you can expect big changes to happen in the coming future.
