Borderlands 2 will be releasing on the PlayStation Vita next month. The title will be available on May 6 as a stand alone purchase on the PlayStation Store, with the retail version releasing a week later.
Alongside the long-promised port of Gearbox’s astounding RPG, Sony announced a hardware bundle that will include a Vita Slim, 8GB Memory Card and the game itself for 200$.
Borderlands 2 on the Vita will support cross-save feature with the PlayStation 3 version, allowing players to pick where they left off on either console. The handheld port will also include the previously released six DLCs of the game:
- Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty
- Mr Torque’s Campaign of Carnage
- The Psycho
- The Mechromancer Character Classes
- Ultimate Vault Hunter’s Upgrade Pack
- The Collector’s Edition Content
This list of course does not include the various other expansion packs released by Gearbox Software. Those you will have to purchase.
Note that the game’s release date of May 6 is only when you purchase the new Vita bundle. That will enable you to score the game a whole week earlier than its intended release date of May 13 in North America.
Set five years after the events of the first Borderlands title, players control one of the four new Vault Hunters as they race to open the second vault. The key to this one lies in the hands of the game’s villain Handsome Jack.
