Blizzard has begun rolling out Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft for iPad devices.
According to the announcement, the iPad version is now available for all those residing in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. As for the official release for the rest of the world, Blizzard’s free-to-play digital card game will arrive in the App Store “soon.”
“Hearthstone’s player base has already grown to more than 10 million registered accounts following the official Windows and Mac release, but we saw that a few people online were holding out for the iPad version,” said Blizzard co-founder and CEO Mike Morhaime. “Instead of calling those folks up individually, we figured we might as well let everyone know that the global iPad rollout for Hearthstone has begun, and pretty soon it’ll be available everywhere.”
Both the iPad and PC versions will feature cross-play, meaning that all of your Heartstone content will be shared across all devices. If you’re placing from your PC, then you can simply switch to an iPad and continue from where you left.
Blizzard noted that releasing Hearthstone in a limited set of countries was necessary to ensure quality control. However, those living in other territories will not have to wait long.
