Watch Dogs NPCs Cast Shadows Depending Upon Time of the Day

Since its E3 2013 showing, many a fans have raised their questions and doubts regarding Watch Dogs’ visual fidelity. Obsessive fans have broken down each trailer and gameplay video into separate frames to see whether or not the game’s visuals have been downgraded in any possible way.

The recently released trailer provide viewers with a lively Chicago and showcases game’s lightning, weather, realistic NPCs, and the game’s protagonist, Aiden.

However, according to some folks, the trailer is not as good as it sounds like. Courtesy of a Twitter user, Word; several NPCs in the trailer were not casting any shadows. Along with this, a few cars were caught flying a few inches above the surface of earth. A .gif image provided by Word is quite self-explanatory.

The issue was brought to the attention of Watch Dogs’ Creative Director, Jonathan ‘Design_Cave’ Morin who replied by stating that NPCs certainly cast shadows and floating cars can be a bug in the game. Later on, he stated that NPCs not casting the shadows can be a bug too.

Morin also confirmed that shadows are casted depending upon the time of the day; just like in real life. The full Twitter Conversation can be read below:

Another thing spotted by a Twitter user Dejan was the presence of QR Code Puzzles. Morin also replied to this Tweet by stating, ‘You have good eyes.’

Not much information as to how and why these QR Codes will work but I’m sure we will be seeing a whole lot of them.
