In January this year, Sony had started rolling out the first PlayStation Now invites to people, now we have picked up word that they are issuing more invites – albeit silently.
It was reported by IGN that they were told by multiple PlayStation users that they received emails that brought them invitations for the testing that Sony is carrying out on the new service. You should check your inbox to make sure you don’t miss your invitation.
For those who don’t know PlayStation Now is the Gaikai based videogame streaming service that is going to be used to offer games on rentals for multiple platforms including PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
Previously, certain titles that are supposedly going to go up through the service were leaked and you might check out the list by clicking here. The beta testing has been for the North American users only and so far we have not been told when the European community will get it.
Although the rental service looks lucrative, it will require a 5MB connection, as advised by Sony. The leaked price for one year’s subscription of the service was $49.99.
In more recent news, certain PlayStation 4 users reported that they received the offer to rent out games on their console despite not being a part of the beta test. One of the games offered on rent was Catherine by Atlus and it was being offered on rent for free as a limited time trial.
