Nintendo eShop Gets Gameboy Advance Games In April

There is a stack of Gameboy Advance games planned to release on the Nintendo eShop, after it was revealed that Advance Wars would be coming to Virtual Console. That game, as well as two other prime releases will start coming in on April 3, 2014. We’ll list games, dates and prices below:

April 3

  • Advance Wars – Wii U – $7.99: Turn-based strategy in cute pixel art style with commanders at the helm, each with individual powers.
  • Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga – Wii U – $7.99: Roleplaying game with the Mario brothers fighting together, viewed from a classic JRPG top-down perspective.
  • Metroid Fusion – Wii U – $7.99: Side-scrolling adventure that gradually opens up as bounty hunter, Samus Aran, finds more equipment throughout levels.

April 10

  • Kirby & The Amazing Mirror – Wii U – $6.99: Cute, side-scrolling platform game with many colorful clones.
  • WarioWare, Inc: Mega Microgame$! – Wii U – $6.99: Crazy set of mini-games that take just a few seconds each to complete.

April 17

  • Super Mario Bros. 3 – Wii U, 3DS – $4.99: Classic platform adventure throughout differently themed lands and many costumes.
  • F-Zero: Maximum Velocity – Wii U – $6.99: Futuristic racing title with sharp turns and frame-bumping opponents.
  • Golden Sun – Wii U – $7.99: Challenging roleplaying game with tricky puzzles and amazingly detailed pixel art.

April 24

  • Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3 – Wii U – $7.99: Crayon-colored platform adventure with egg-tossing, flutter jumps and cute yet deadly foes.

Nearly all of these Gameboy Advance titles were originally announced for Nintendo 3DS through its Ambassador Program that shushed early adopters with free games.
