Dead Space, the survival horror masterpiece by Visceral games, is available for free download until 8th of May via Origin.
You have to be living under a rock to not have heard or played Dead Space. The game is a third person survival shooter done right. With horrifying monsters, called the Necromorphs, jumping at you from vents in claustrophobic corridors ending with either yours or their gruesome death, the nerve wrecking calm between every encounter and the story that has you hooked the very second you get control of the protagonist Isaac Clarke.
The story is centered around Clarke as he and his crew members, Zach Hammond and Kendra Daniels respond to a distress signal on a Planet Mining Ship named The Ishimura. Clarke has alot at stake in the rescue mission for his wife, Nicole Clarke, who works on-board The Ishimura.
Clarke goes from one end of the Ishimura to the other battling Necromorphs, clearing objectives and finding holotapes which shed light on what happened on The Ishimura. Deadspace set the bar for Survival Horror, despite its similarity, Deadspace can hold its own next to Survival Horror titans such as Resident Evil 4.
Deadspace is developed by Visceral Games (Previously known as EA Redwood Shores) and was released on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in October 2008. This is one of those games you must play before you die.
