A new gameplay trailer has been released by Beenox for its upcoming Amazing Spider-Man 2 title that will release next month for consoles and PC.
In this video, creative director Thomas Wilson showcases the game’s new web-swinging mechanics that on the consoles is controlled with both triggers to grip objects in the environment. It also reveals that Peter Parker’s room will be used as a mission hub. Wilson commented on this saying that Beenox thought it important to show the human side of Peter. That makes sense, seeing that the game revolves around Spider-Man searching for the one who killed his uncle Ben.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 takes place alongside the events of the movie of the same name. The game’s villain roster includes both old and new characters, including Electron and Kingpin – who will have a prominent role in the game.
Last year Beenox stated that they are focusing more on bringing a good open-world experience. The gameplay is relatively the same as its predecessor with improvements being made to web-slinging, combat and upgrades.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will launch on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, 3DS and PC on April 29th in North America and on May 2nd in Europe. The 3DS version will feature a slightly different gameplay experience, without the free roam features.
