PS3 Short Peace: Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day Dated

There’s a release date for Short Peace: Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day, the compilation of animation clips combined with a game. It will release in Europe on April 18, 2014 for Playstation 3 exclusively.

Alongside this news, publisher Namco Bandai released another miniscule teaser for one of the four anime films bundled with the release. This movie is called Possessions.

It features a man who takes shelter from a nasty storm inside a remote shrine. Here, he is suddenly surrounded by discarded umbrellas and kimonos coming to life and putting on a show.

Possessions has an ambience similar to Spirited Away, but with more cutout-styled art and modern shading techniques. Much like that reference, the Short Peace film was nominated for an academy Award in 2014.

In the game of Short Peace: Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day, you’ll be dealing mostly with a fast-paced action title. It’s in the hands of Suda51, also responsible for artsy titles like Killer7 and Killer Is Dead.

In the game, players portray a schoolgirl that doubles up as a hitman. After evil forces come for her, she spends most of the game running from threats while taking down enemies with flashy combos. These overarching threats eventually come to a giant standoff.

In other news, publisher Namco Bandai also announced new downloadable content for Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z today. It looks like they’re keeping busy lately.
