Mordheim: City of the Damned Releases This Year for PC; Based on Classic Board Game
A turn-based tactical/strategy title is in the works at Rogue Factor, which is an adaptation of Games Workshop’s cult classic board game, Mordheim.
Mordheim: City of the Damned is set in Warhammer’s Empire City where players must lead warbands into skirmishes and fight for control of key points. Success will reward you with the “very valuable Wyrdstone fragments.”
Players can choose from iconic Mordheim factions – Sisters of Sigmar, Possessed, Skaven, Mercenaries from the Empire, and others.
“The game blends RPG elements, fast-paced tactical combat and intricate unit customization in a time wrought by chaos and rivalry where only the strongest survive,” explained publisher Focus Home Interactive in a press release today.
The game features multiplayer through which players can challenge new blood. To keep a healthy army, new units can be recruited, equipped with gear and then led into battle. Successful missions will reward you with experience and loot that can be used for customization.
Units lost in a mission are lost forever. Hence it’s vital that players formulate a good battle strategy before taking their turns. You can take advantage of the environment as well and deploy troops in key points for ambushes, or from where your units can utilize their key skills.
Mordheim: City of the Damned is in development for the PC and will release later this year.
