Total War: Shogun 2 Releasing for Mac in Spring

The Creative Assembly announced today that Feral Interactive will be publishing its historical strategy title Total War: Shogun 2 for the Mac this spring.

The game is set in 16th century feudal Japan and has players leading nine clans to battle in the country’s Warring States. It captures many elements from its predecessor, the first Shogun: Total War that was released for the PC in 2000, and makes it better in many ways. However, the main highlight of the sequel is that it follows historically accurate settings, which Creative Assembly put together painfully and with attention to every detail.

Total War: Shogun 2 isn’t only about fighting on battlefields and players must also take part in political elements to decide the fate of alliances. On the Mac it will also include all additional DLC previously released for the Windows PC version. This includes the add-on campaign pack Rise of the Samurai, which tasks players with establishing the first shogunate 400 years prior to the game’s events, as well as six additional packs adding new single-player and multiplayer modes, clans, classes, weapons and more.

Feral Interactive will be putting out more details in the coming weeks, as well as revealing the release date.
