Portal is Heading to Nvidia Shield

At the near end of Nvidia’s GPU Technology Conference today, its CEO Jen-Hsun Huang revealed that Portal is going to be coming to their Android-powered Nvidia Shield.

Huang said that Valve has been working with Nvidia to port the puzzle-platform title specifically to Nvidia Shield. He however did not mention whether this was an exclusive deal or if Portal is being brought by Valve for all Android devices. It’s also unknown whether Valve is interested in bringing Portal 2 to Android as well.

“NVIDIA has created a very powerful and unique device with SHIELD. Our companies have a strong history working together and we’re looking forward to Portal‘s arrival on SHIELD,” said Valve’s Doug Lombardi in a statement.

A release date wasn’t mentioned except that it will be “coming soon.” That perhaps signifies that it will be sooner than we think.

Nvidia Shield already supports over 300 titles and Portal is going to be a fine addition to its library.

Portal was released for the PC first back in 2007 and was later brought to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 later the same year in the form of The Orange Box bundle.
