Nintendo Will be Skipping PAX East This Year
For the first time in the history of PAX East, Nintendo will not be a part of the event.
Ever since its launch in Bellevue, Penny Arcade Expo has gathered instant popularity in gaming, comics, and anime industries. However, Nintendo has decided to skip PAX East 2014 scheduled to take place in Boston.
While speaking to Polygon, a Nintendo representative stated that interacting with fans is a key component of their approach but, it does not include ‘PAX East’, this year. However, the company will bring in tons of hands-on experiences for the fans in 2014.
Interacting directly with our fans and letting them play our games firsthand is a key component of our approach. That doesn’t include PAX East this year, but we will offer our fans a variety of opportunities to get their hands on Nintendo products in 2014. Keep an eye on our social media pages for more information about where we’ll be and what you can play.
Along with Nintendo, Sega has also decided not showing up for PAX East 2014, however, it will make it there on PAX Prime. Whether Nintendo will attend PAX Prime or PAX Australia still remains to be seen.
Another interesting thing is that Sony is also not attending the PAX which makes Microsoft the only one to be there out of three. Other major companies that will attend the event include Ubisoft, Square Enix, 2K Games, Blizzard, etc.
It’s a shame that we will not be able to see Nintendo, but I’m definitely excited for products the company has in store for fans.
