Developer Blueside released a new gameplay video for Kingdom Under Fire II at GDC 2014 today, which showcases the game’s cities and fields.
The trailer focused on the open terrain and how players can explore, hunt wild animals, collect and gather materials for crafting various items. Players can also participate in community activities, large-scale player-versus-player battles, and grand-size raids.
Kingdom Under Fire II has been in development for well over 5 years. It was first announced in 2008 and was to be released for PC and consoles the next year. In 2010 though the developer was rumored to be in a great financial trouble and the development of the sequel was almost but scrapped. Many employees were let go and at the end only a team of 90 were left to work on the game.
The Xbox 360 version of Kingdom Under Fire II was then announced to be delayed to Christmas 2011; which was then followed by the delaying of the PS3 version to 2012. In the wake of this nightmare, Kingdom Under Fire II was then said to be in development for only the PC and PlayStation 4.
The PC version will now arrive West in the first-half of 2014, and the PS4 version will touch down in mid-to-late 2014.
Kingdom Under Fire 2 puts you in charge of a fantasy hero who controls an army and does battle with huge enemy forces using overhead army-ordering tactics and colossal spells, as well as close range hack-and-slash fighting. Think Dynasty Warriors.
