Titanfall has risen to success, and that much is certain. However, with every successful game come rumors of a bigger sequel, and Respawn Entertainment’s mech based first person shooter is no different.
Titanfall 2 has been speculated about even before the original game had made it to the markets. Now, certain sources of Polygon and Gamespot have shared some new inside information – something that hints at the possibility of a PS4 version.
Don’t jump just yet; the two sources have firstly reported that Electronic Arts, the publisher of Titanfall has secured the publishing rights for the next game in the series. Apparently, the publishing rights were subject to the success of the first game.
Moreover, the sources in question have claimed that Titanfall 2 will not be a Microsoft exclusive i.e. only for Windows and Xbox like Titanfall itself. This gives us greater hope that a Titanfall 2 PS4 version could actually happen.
The official statement given by Electronic Arts on the matter is a generic one, but that was sort of expected. It might be too early for the claimed publisher to let slip anything regarding the next Titanfall game.
Here’s what an EA representative said:
We do not comment on rumor or speculation. Right now all our focus is on supporting all the fans worldwide enjoying Titanfall.
Previously, Vince Zampella the cofounder of Respawn had hinted that Titanfall games will always be Microsoft exclusives at launch which means that even Titanfall 2 could be a timed exclusive. He had also said that the next games in the series will ‘of course’ be made for PS4.
So, Titanfall 2 PS4 version; sounds pretty cool right?
