Publisher Konami released a trailer for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 that shows its downloadable content (DLC) called Revelations. It will be based around Alucard, instead of Gabriel Belmont.
Revelations will serve mostly as an appended storyline, which is only briefly mentioned at the end of the main release. It will delve into how exactly Alucard put in motion the plot involving Gabriel, who now has become Dracula.
Alucard is the antithesis to Dracula, which is why it’s the same name backwards. In Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, there’s quite a sizable exposition at the beginning of the game detailing just how the two are related.
With Revelations, you’ll be able to take on Alucard’s unique powers. These include turning into a wolf, which seems to be a family trait, as well as turning into bats or being able to turn back time.
To fuel these powers, Alucard will need to drain blood from enemies, just like a vampire should.
In the clip, we also get a glimpse at a certain armor that will return in the main release. When resurrected at the start of the game, it shows up together with some old acquaintances.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is out now for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. It didn’t do too well in the critics ratings, but it sure does look really pretty.
For the Revelations DLC, you’ll need to put down €5.99.
