Creative Assembly’s upcoming survival horror, Alien: Isolation might still be half a year away, but the new details that were revealed by the developers at this year’s Game Developer Conference really make us wish that it comes earlier.
As we already know, there will be a greater importance on the element of survival than horror. The storyline being that a single alien is hunting you down, it surely gives a greater vibe of a survival game though the alien character would make sure that the game doesn’t miss out on the horror aspect.
Moreover, there will be no magic weapons and you will always be physically inferior to the antagonist.
The developer has received a large number of design documents from 20th Century FOX and the design of Alien: Isolation is being made as similar to the original movie as possible. In fact, Creative Assembly is so into the original movie that they are going to retain the grainy look of the film in the game too.
It was also shared that the general tone of the graphics will be pale for the reason that it is a lesser used combination.
Lastly, the alien who is after you won’t be visible a lot which means the developers are going to build upon the fear of the unknown. Yes, the alien will be fast – in fact very fast and a cerebral killer and a stalker who will be dynamic in his attacks. It won’t meet you in the same fashion twice and in fact it would rarely attack you directly.
Alien: Isolation is slated for a release in the fourth quarter of this year. It has been confirmed for release on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
