This week saw Julian Gollop starting a Kickstarter campaign for a turn-based title called Chaos Reborn.
Gollop is known for his 1994 PC creation, XCOM: UFO Defense and Chaos Reborn is an update to one of his other classics, Chaos: The Battle of Wizards.
According to the Kickstarter page, Chaos Reborn will feature extended customization and leveling options to players for their wizards, prior to jumping to a battle arena. These arenas will see to a total of six mages dueling but for that to happen the project is seeking $180,000 by April 17. As of now the game has 974 backers who have so far contributed a total of $34,566, with 30 more days to go.
Pledging $20 or more will get backers a digital downloadable version of the game that will be DRM free, as well as early access to the alpha and beta. Additionally backers will be treated with a PDF of the game’s stunning Chaos Reborn Art book and Game Guide, and downloadable versions of the music tracks – exclusive to backers. Pledging $35 or more will get you all of the above and a rare set of magical equipment.
Pledging $1,000 or more though will have the game’s artists modeling your image into the game as one of the Gods of the Realms of Chaos. You will also be able to define your bio and choose what exactly you are a god of.
Chaos Reborn was announced some time ago, back in November of 2012 but was only detailed recently. It’s in development for the PC, Mac and Linux and is expect to release by spring 2015.
