After months of debates and tons of annoyed fans, Maxis had announced back in January that SimCity offline will actually happen.
It was then announced that the Update 10 will come bearing the game’s single player mode that will not require an internet connection. Fans have been waiting for two months now and finally, the devs have given another ray of hope. Update 10 is almost around the corner.
The good news came in through the official Twitter profile of SimCity where they announced that the Update 10 was almost ready. For those who don’t know, it is the much awaited Update 10 that will allow SimCity offline to come to play.

Not that you wouldn’t know what to expect from the offline mode of the city builder game, but here’s how Maxis general manager Patrick Buechner believes the Update 10 is all about:
“Bringing the game Offline means big things for our wonderful community of Modders. They can now make modifications to the game and its components without compromising the integrity of the Online game. Modding is a big part of our studio’s legacy and we’re excited to see what you guys create.”
The Update 10 will allow people to play the solo and multiplayer online but add the single player mode functionality that will let you play the game offline. Your saved game modes will be stored locally so it won’t be a problem for you to save it and load it when and whatever times you like.
How many of you have been looking forward to SimCity offline version?
