Rejoice folks, The Last of Us Movie is going to follow the storyline that all of us have come to love thanks to Naughty Dog’s award winning game. The game’s creative director has confirmed that they will not deviate from the game’s story when making the film.
Neil Druckmann, the creative director at Naughty Dog has been a source of information in the past too; again it was him this time who confirmed the connection between the storyline of The Last of Us Movie and The Last of Us game. He was at yesterday’s BAFTA Game Awards 2014 when he divulged information about the movie to IGN:
“It’s an adaptation of the story of The Last of Us. As far as where we go and how we make it fit into a film, how it takes into account the unique properties of film… We’re not sure yet. We’re only just scratching the surface.”
Impressively, that is not all he shared. He also went on to hint towards a potential The Last of Us sequel game as well as the remainder of downloadable content for the original game.
Druckmann confirmed that another piece of The Last of Us multiplayer DLC will be released to the populace very soon. Previously, the game has received two DLC that have been a part of the Season Pass.
As far as The Last of Us sequel is concerned, we will advise you to keep your fingers crossed as the sound of Druckmann’s comment didn’t really show that they have put the pedal to the metal with it. he was asked to share whatever he could about the progression of the sequel to which he responded:
“We don’t know yet. We’re still trying to figure it out. We’re brainstorming some stuff, so we’ll see where that goes.”
What are your expectations from The Last of Us Movie, the game’s sequel and the upcoming DLC?
