Naughty Dog has revealed that their critically acclaimed The Last of Us title has now sold over six million copies worldwide.

The studio’s post-apocalyptic action-adventure title has achieved many milestones over its life time. The recent of which was at this year’s BAFTA Game Awards where The Last of Us picked up a total of five awards. Having sold over six million copies is just another feather in Naughty Dog’s cap whose story telling capabilities are in a league of its own.

Naughty Dog will be present at GDC next week where they plan to “talk about some of the techniques and process that went into making The Last of Us”, and “what made Left Behind, our first ever downloadable, single player story chapter, so unique”.

Earlier this month it was confirmed that a movie adaptation is being worked upon of the PS3 game. The game’s creative director Neil Druckmann is writing the script; while the studio’s co-presidents Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra, and game director Bruce Straley, Druckmann will also serve as a “creative architect” on the Sony project.
