Call of Duty: Ghosts PS4 Fixes Stability Issues With 1.7GB Patch
Infinity Ward recently released a stability patch to Call of Duty: Ghosts PS4 version. What is peculiar about the patch was its unexplained, yet huge size.
The update takes up 1.7 GB of the hard disk space on your console, but the patch notes that the developer has released are confined to a single line.
Although one would expect the patch to have hefty notes, explanation released by Infinity Ward was rather anticlimactic, as it reads:
Title Update: PlayStation 4
Fixed a crash that could occur at the start screen, if you started downloading Onslaught before launching the game.
Fans rushed to Reddit and asked for the detailed patch notes or the reason why it would take 1.7GB just to fix that one bug.
In response to this, Activision Support page acknowledged that although they understood the patch notes were too small, they had no further explanation right now.
Reason being, all the patches and notes come from Infinity Ward itself and until they divulge the details, we along with the Activision Support team at Reddit will have to sit tight and wait.
Some of you might have noticed that the patches that Sony’s previous generation console received were rather small. They would be around a couple of hundred MBs but usually would not top gigabytes. The Activision Support was also asked to shed light on the matter to which they said:
File size varies by platform, PS4 and Xbox One will typically be larger than its predecessors since their hardware differs from the previous generation platforms.
Newer consoles are able to handle more, be it improved graphics, or even support for Ground war, so when patches/games are released for these newer platforms more data is required.
Call of Duty: Ghosts PS4 patch has not received any more information, but we shall keep you updated as soon as more detailed patch notes are released by Infinity Ward.
