Today, Sega has announced a new Campaign DLC for Total War: Rome 2 called Hannibal at the Gates.
This new DLC will introduce a new campaign map which is set in the western Mediterranean, and it will be set in the time when Rome and Carthage were at each other’s throat at the start of the Second Punic War.
The developers are also going to add three factions to the game, which include Arevaci, the Lusitani and Syracuse. Rome and Carthage will get a new diplomacy base civil tech tree.
Moreover, Sega announced that the Total War: Rome 2 has sold more than 1 million units by the end of last year, and it is the fastest and most commercially successful Total War Game up until now.
Creative Director Mike Simpson said in the press release:
Rome 2 was hugely ambitious for our studio. We do regret that some reviewers and core fans didn’t get everything they wanted from it. We are committed to improving and adding to the game over the coming months; we very much want Rome 2 to be remembered as one of our best.
Total War: Rome 2 has enjoyed a lot of success in industry since its release last year in September and still the popularity of the game is on the up.
