According to reports from Siliconera, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call will feature the all-powerful Knights of the Round and Chocobos. In an impending issue of Jump, the rhythm game on Nintendo 3DS is shown featuring these characters.
In the Theatrhythm series, players can choose to summon a creature once during their battles. This can inflict a ton more damage and is especially handy on bosses.
Knights of the Round are famous for their gigantic advantage they give players in Final Fantasy VII. This summon unleashes a torrent of highly powerful hits and with the right material equipped, it’s possible to do unbelievable amounts of damage.
You can only get Knights of the Round if you waste your time breeding golden Chocobos, which is probably why their inclusion in Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call is so shiny as well. Still, if you’re not breeding and racing Chocobos for at least a few dozen hours in Final Fantasy VII, then you’re playing it wrong.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call will feature an entire stack of armored characters in simplified style for Knights of the Round. That’s probably going to require quite some time to finish its full cinematic.
As the name lightly suggests, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call is a rhythm game, where characters bop through landscapes to the tunes of classic Final Fantasy theme. With a cast of iconic characters from the franchise, you’ll also encounter plenty of known foes, which need to be taken down by swiping and tapping the Nintendo 3DS touchscreen to the beat of the song.
Sadly, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call is only coming to Japan, so far. It will release on April 24, 2014.
