Blizzard is now confident of Hearthstone and they’re releasing it for general public consumption – setting it loose on the world to be played for free. The game has left beta. Following what was several months of vigorous testing and updates, now the game is playable by anyone who wishes to be part of the World of Warcraft inspired card game.
Blizzard’s CEO Mike Morhaime had this to say on the matter:
“We saw some reports early on that Hearthstone might destroy the planet. We’re pleased to see that the game has been released and the planet is still here . . . though we apologize for all the lost productivity.”
Hearthstone is now free to play on the PC and the Mac, with iPad support being an idea that will become a reality in the near future. There were also rumors at the BlizzCon of the game possibly being available on Android devices too, leaving no gaming platform untouched.
