Only recently Ubisoft revealed the Watch Dogs release date i.e. May 27, 2014. There are two and a half months remaining until we get to purchase the game from the market, but how about a Watch Dogs closed beta? It was most probably just a slip up, but multiple people stumbled upon a listing on their Xbox Game Store for the closed beta test download.
The listing, which has now been removed, was sighted and screen-grabbed by at least two Xbox One owners. According to the images shared by one of the users on Reddit, the Watch Dogs closed beta was listed as unavailable and sized 23.07 GB. It also showed a 1-1 player gameplay on Xbox One and a 2-8 player feature online via Xbox Live Gold.
This is not the only sighting that we know of; another Reddit user posted an image saying “just saw this tile in Upload Studio.” Even this tile was referring to a Watch Dogs closed beta.
Now, we don’t know whether this was just a slip up relating to an internal beta test session that wasn’t supposed to go public, or it was an early leak of a Watch Dogs closed beta that is supposed to go live sometime later.
Ubisoft has kept quiet on the matter so far so we will have to wait a little longer before anything can be confirmed. Until then, let’s take all this under ‘rumors’ category.
Whether a Watch Dogs closed beta is going to come out or not, Watch Dogs releases on May 27, 2014 – and we are all geared up for that!
