Hideo Kojima to Present BAFTA Award to Rockstar Games
Organizers of British Academy Fellowship Television Arts (BAFTA) have announced that Konami Digital Entertainment’s Vice President Hideo Kojima will be the one who presents Rockstar Games the BAFTA award at the British Academy Video Game Awards in London next Wednesday.
The award for Rockstar Games was announced earlier by BAFTA for their work on the amazing titles like Grand Theft Auto, Bully, L.A. Noire, Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption. Biggest names in the company Dan Houser, Sam Houser, Leslie Benzies and Aaron Garbut will receive the award on behalf of the Rockstar Games.
Describing the developer’s work, Chairman of BAFTA Harvey Elliot said:
“It is hugely exciting to be able to recognise the amazing contribution made by Rockstar to the games industry over the past 16 years.
The creativity and passion exhibited by the Rockstar teams have inspired a generation of game developers to raise the bar in every aspect of game development.
From design and mechanics, through to storytelling, cinematics and audio immersion, and in the process creating games that compete so profoundly on a global stage across all entertainment media. Rockstar, this Fellowship is wholly deserved.”
Moreover, this is not the first time Hideo Kojima will be present at the awards. He was also present at the 2012 BAFTA Awards where he gave annual games lecture, which is still available at the event’s official website.
The event is being held at the London’s Tobacco Dock. If you want to participate in the event, you can purchase the tickets here.
The British Academy Game will be hosted by Dara O Briain for the sixth consecutive year and the ceremony will be streamed live on Twitch.tv.
