The Corporate Vice President at Microsoft, Marc Whitten has confirmed on the Xbox Newswire that Microsoft is looking into a myriad of new features to be inaugurated into the Xbox One to improve user experience (or possibly help the staggeringly low sales).
One of these features on this next-generation console is the addition of external storage devices to be used as they are in the Xbox 360.
“We know external hard drive storage is another big one on your list. It’s on our list too. We’re working on that for a future update and will keep you posted.” as well as stating that
they’re “working on friends notification improvements and experimenting with how to make that better.”
The company plans upon regularly bringing new innovations to the console, hoping to win back the trust of the community that they so ridiculously lost and possibly get over the host of disappointments that plagued the system at launch.
The addition of external memory is one of them. In the next few years as more and more games are released on the Xbox One, the addition of external memory will be a great perk to have to accommodate the large amount of size that modern games take up.
Hopefully, with additions like these, the dwindling sales of the Xbox One might finally match up to those of the Playstation 4 and restore the glory of it’s former self – the 360.
