Uncharted Series Creative Director Leaves Naughty Dog Suspiciously

Only recently it was reported that writer and creative director Amy Hennig, who was supposedly working on Uncharted PS4 version has had trouble at the game’s development studio and that she has quit. This obviously was bad news for the Uncharted series fans, so Sony was contacted, and sadly, the news is true.

Sony has confirmed that the rumors afloat are true. The famed Uncharted writer and creative director has left the game’s developer Naughty Dog. The official statement issued by Sony reads:

We can confirm that Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog. Amy has made significant contributions to the game industry and we appreciate all she has done for Naughty Dog. The development timeline of Uncharted will not be impacted.

According to the original report, Amy Hennig had been working on Uncharted PS4 version when she was ‘forced out’ of the job by the makers of The Last of Us.

She recently celebrated her 10th anniversary at the developing studio.

The source in question also claims that Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, the duo who were behind The Last of Us and apparently Amy Hennig’s departure, would now assume control of the Uncharted PS4 version.

Neil Druckmann has been working at Naughty Dog since 2004 and has won Writers Guild Award 2014 for The Last of Us.

Bruce Straley on the other hand has worked on Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves in the past. He also has the Jak series to his credit.
