In yet another disappointing news for Wii U owners, it seems like that the Caped Crusader’s latest adventure is missing out on the Wii U entirely.
After a string of other disappointments concerning the release of the game on Nintendo’s new console, it seems as the recently announced new installment to the Arkham Franchise, Batman: Arkham Knight will be available on the next gen consoles – the Xbox One and the PS4, and the PC but might end up evading the irksome Wii U entirely.
Even though Arkham City and Arkham Origins both got ports on the Wii U, according to Game Informer, Batman: Arkham Knight won’t be getting the same treatment.
The fact that Arkham Knight is only on next gen hardware might mean that Rocksteady wants not to restrict the award-winning critically acclaimed franchise by the last generations limitations and making the best of the available hardware. Is it because of the Wii U’s visual limitations or is Sony not letting the Wii U succeed?
However, In April, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate – Deluxe Edition, a port of last fall’s 3DS game, will be coming to the Wii U e-Shop.
Meanwhile, it seems that Scarecrow – the hallucinogen using killer might be the next villain in Arkham Knight – accompanied by an impressive roster of other villains including Harley Quinn, Penguin and Two-Face. According to an earlier listing on retailer GAME’s website, Batman: Arkham Knight will be the “explosive finale” to the series and we will see the the caped crusader return to face “the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect.”
More details about the game are expected in the Game Informer’s new edition which will be focusing on Arkham Knight. However, it is known that for the first time in the series, Players will get to use a unique drive-able version of the Bat Mobile.
Pre-ordering Batman: Arkham Knight will get players four exclusive Challenge Maps where they can play as Harley Quinn and use her unique weapons and abilities
