Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls Introduces Clans and Communities
Blizzard has posted first details on the new social features that will be making their way to Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls on PC. These social features will include Clans and Communities.
The Clans feature will allow up to 120 players to join in. The numbers are kept low because Blizzard doesn’t want the clans to be overcrowded.
This number was chosen because clans are intended to be smaller and invitation only. Players can only join one clan at a time.
On the other hand, communities have unlimited members and they do not require an invite from anyone. Players have the option to join as many communities as they want. Blizzard said:
Communities can be formed for nearly any reason including playing the same class, frequenting the same fan sites, or living in the same geographical area.
Following are the categories that you can choose for your community. However, you are not be limited to them.
- Online Communities
- Class Specific
- Internet Cafes
You will also have to decide if you want your Community to go Public or stay Invite only.
Both of these features are currently undergoing testing on the Reaper of Souls Closed Beta and the Patch 2.0.1 public test realm. For more information on this, you can check out Battle.net.
This news is amazing for the players of Diablo 3, it will be great to have your own community to connect more and do it all within the game. However, there is no news regarding the availability of these features on the consoles.
