During the latest Nintendo Direct event last week, Little Mac was revealed as a playable character in Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS. Now, Smash Bros head Masahiro Sakurai has revealed the fighter’s power.
In the latest bout of Miiverse explanations, the director noted that Little Mac would have a one-hit kill buried within the skill set, stating:
His biggest feature is his Power Meter. When this gets charged up, his standard special move changes! It turns into a one-hit-K.O. uppercut.
This move, seen in the latest trailer of the game, sends opponents hurling through the air. Additionally, Sakurai mentioned that Little Mac would be best suited as a ground fighter.
While airborne, the Punch-Out star would still be able to dish out blows, but those wouldn’t be the strongest to use. Players are advised to keep Little Mac on the ground to prevent any weaknesses.
More interesting traits for the latest playable character on the roster include a fluid dodge, while advancing, as well as a transformation. The latter would have Little Mac turn into a giant brawler.
A total of 23 characters have been announced. Little Mac is one of five new reveals, together with Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, the Villager from Animal Crossing and Rosalina.
There still isn’t a set release date for Super Smash Bros, but it should arrive on both Wii U and 2DS somewhere in 2014.
