Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has officially entered open beta on the PlayStation 4.
This comes just four days before the console officially makes it debut launch in Japan. Prior to this Square Enix had promised that the Final Fantasy XIV would launch on the PlayStation 4 on the console’s launch date and will be in the form of open beta. Provided that everything goes smoothly, which the developer was pretty confident it would, Final Fantasy XIV would then officially release for the PS4 later this year.
The beta has been released earlier but will not be playable until this weekend when the PS4 launches in Japan. Consider these four days as an ideal time to download the beta and be prepared for Saturday. It’s advised to do so now because come the weekend, people are going to downloading off the PSN left and right and you can expect a bit of issues concerning the PSN’s performance.
The open beta is free to everyone who owns a PlayStation 4.
In related news, A Realm Reborn has also landed on Steam and is currently going for a discounted price of $15.
