Couple of days ago we had reported about an Amazon listing that was outed by Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, the game has now been confirmed by Activision.
Hasbro preview event that was held ahead of the New York Toy Fair brought forward the news along with a trailer that shows Optimus Prime welcoming you in style.
“For every force in the universe, there is an equal and an opposite,” Optimus Prime says, “for every hero, a villain and for every victory, defeat.”
According to an Activision representative; Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark will merge High Moon Studios’ game universe with the movie universe that has been created by Michael Bay. This means the upcoming flick Transformers: Age of Extinction is going to have a lot to do with the game; you will get to play with characters from both the environments.
One of the characters from the movie that the game will feature is Grimlock. It was also revealed that the single player campaign will let you play as Autobots as well as Decepticons.
The multiplayer mode, Extinction, will now feature up to 40 playable characters for you to choose from. Moreover, the two game modes will be linked together, insofar that the progression you achieve in one mode will be carried on in the other game mode.
Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is being developed by Edge of Reality instead of High Moon. They have games like Mass Effect Trilogy and Dragon Age: Origins on their portfolio.
As expected from the Amazon leak, the game is being developed for all the major platforms namely Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC, Wii U, and 3DS.
