Suda51’s cel-shaded action title Killer is Dead is slated to launch on PC on 9 May, 2014. Published by Deep Silver, the game was originally released on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 back in August.
The PC version is called as Killer is Dead: Nightmare Edition because it will feature a novel Nightmare difficulty setting. Other than this, the newly included Theater Mode will let players re-watch cut-scenes and get more information about each character and story-telling.
The official description of Nightmare Difficulty Setting reads:
Enemies can only be defeated using the following attacks: Adrenaline Burst, Dodge Burst, Headshots, so the gameplay requires far more skill and tactics. Players will not be able to use the Final Judgment Finisher (QTE mode) to defeat enemies.
The PC version will also have console’s Smooth Operator DLC Pack with all-new X-ray Vision, new customization option, and an extra mission.
Killer is Dead: Nightmare Edition will be available both as a Physical Copy and Digital Download for $19.99.
The story of the game revolves around an executioner named Mondo Zappa who works for Bryan Execution Firm. Players will set out on a journey of executing various law-violators and assassination targets by using an amalgam of Sword-fighting and Cybernetic Arm.
The Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions failed to impress the audience and the game only managed to score 64 on Metacritic and 60.07% on Gamerankings. Only the time can tell how well the PC version will do.
