Developer Image & Form has revealed today that its indie platformer SteamWorld Dig will release for the PlayStation 4 and Vita in March.

This is the first time that the series has been released for a home console, having been originally released for the 3DS alone.

“We are thrilled to present SteamWorld Dig to the PlayStation community,” Image & Form boss Brjann Sigurgeirsson said. “This is our first release ever on a stationary console, and a long-standing dream of ours. So many PlayStation gamers have asked us to bring the game to their hardware, and we can’t wait to join the community both on PS4 and Vita.”

SteamWorld Dig will feature cross-buy support for both Sony platforms and will cost $9.99 upon release.

With unique mechanics, stunning presentation and an immersive gameplay, it’s no wonder that SteamWorld Dig was amongst Game of the Year nominations and awards last year. It’s great seeing the well received title finding a new home on the PS4.
