Finally, Ubisoft is talking business; the third quarter earnings call of the company has come hailing a more precise window for the Watch Dogs release date.
The eagerly awaited open world action adventure game will be in our hands between April and June this year.
Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot, sent out a statement outlining their plans regarding the publisher’s upcoming titles. Apart from the fact that this fiscal year will see the release of The Crew, Just Dance and two unannounced titles, he gave a release window for Watch Dogs:
Today we are specifying our targets for full-year 2013-14 and are confirming our target for non-IFRS operating income for 2014-15. Fiscal 2014-15 will see an exceptional games line-up, with the release of five major titles including Just Dance, The Crew and Watch Dogs, which is scheduled for release in the first fiscal quarter.
The first fiscal quarter for the year in question falls between April 2014 and June 2014.
Guillemot further announced that sadly, Watch Dogs release date for the Wii U version has stumbled upon another delay. Apparently, Ubisoft Montreal is centering their resources on platforms that are more popular and more profitable.
We made the difficult decision to further delay the release of Watch Dogs on Wii U to focus the team’s resources where they could have the broadest possible benefit for both our customers and Ubisoft.
It is a good thing that the developer is not compromising on quality of the game, although it has come at a price of delays that none of us wanted. I guess all will be forgotten if we get a game that does justice to our expectations.
We now have an April to June 2014 window for the Watch Dogs release date, how many of you have pre-ordered it already?
