Japan’s Dark Souls 2 Collector’s Edition Brings Miniature Weapons Set
You will wish you were in Japan when you find out what From Software is making for them in the Dark Souls 2 Collector’s Edition. While people on our side of the globe received a single 12-inch figurine, Japanese folks will be given a set of replica weapons!
The contents of the Dark Souls 2 Collector’s Edition are mouth watering for quite a few of us. There will be four shields, three swords and an impressively carved axe all packed together in velvet beds. Check out the video!
As far as the axe is concerned, it weighs 86 grams while the largest shield weighs the heaviest among all the contents, 172 grams. Among the swords, the longest is 18.5 cm long and weighs around 32 grams.
All this is of course in addition to a CD featuring the official soundtracks, a 100 page part book, a physical map of the game and obviously, the game.
Although the western version of Dark Souls 2 Collector’s Edition has all these too, it replaces the entire weapon collection with a single 12 inch tall statue of the warrior knight.
All the differences made people want to get their hands on it even if they were not in Japan. As it happens, the PS3 is region free so importers unleashed havoc on the Amazon Japan website resulting in the product being sold out completely.
You can still get it on Xbox 360 in Japan but should stop you from importing it as Xbox 360 is not region free.
Dark Souls 2 is bound for the market on March 11 in North America and March 14 in Europe. The game will be released to PS3 and Xbox 360 while the PC edition will follow soon after.
